Introduction
Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is a type of carbon produced through a process of steam activation at very high temperatures, up to 1000°C, under anaerobic conditions.
The product comes in various common particle sizes, including 06-12 mesh, 08-20 mesh, 4-8 mesh, 08-32 mesh, 5-10 mesh, 20-40 mesh. Additionally, depending on the specific requirements and purposes of the user, the carbon may be available in other particle sizes.
With small particle sizes and a large surface area, the carbon enhances the adsorption of dirt and impurities into the tiny pores within its molecular structure, increasing the pressure for adsorption of molecules in gases or liquids.
